Who is the Preferred Home Buyers Alliance?
The Alliance is you, your friends and neighbours and anyone else wanting
to find a home they love and can afford using the most convenient and
up-to-date technology. The Alliance is run by a team of professionals
experienced in real estate, computer science and customer service.

How long has the Preferred Home Buyers Alliance been around?
The Alliance was first conceived in the 1970's by the Kates Marketing
Group. The Alliance was finally born in 2001 as a direct result of the
blossoming efficiency of the Internet and E-mail systems. The Kates Marketing
Group, a well-established marketing company with its headquarters in downtown
Toronto, operates The Alliance. The Kates Marketing Group has been in
business for 35 years, and has helped over 50,000 people buy new homes
worth over five billion dollars in over 500 communities across Canada
and the United States.

Can I go to a new home sales office before registering as a Preferred
Home Buyer?
In order to get 1% cash back you must register your interest first with
The Alliance who in turn will
register you as a preferred home buyer with your chosen community. You
must not have visited that community before and registered independently,
nor can you have an active purchase agreement with a real estate agent.

When do I get my 1% cashback?
You will get your 1% rebate cheque 60 days after the final closing of
your home.

Who pays the 1% cash back?
The Alliance pays it to you. The builder pays The Alliance an advisory fee for
informing buyers about his/her site. From these funds, The Alliance pays you. Your
rebate is contingent on The Alliance receiving its advisory fee in full.

How do I get priority preview information?
Alliance members will often be sent important bulletins via e-mail about
new site openings and new phases -- before the information is released
to the general public. As a homebuyer these site openings are valuable
to you, as openings are generally when you get the lowest price and best
availability of suites and lots. If there is a particular view you're
yearning for, being the first to arrive at the sales office is a big deal.

If I have a purchasers agreement with a real estate agent, can I get
the 1% cashback?
If you take a real estate agent with you to visit the sales office, we
cannot give you the 1% cashback. This is because the real estate agent
will be looking for a fee from the builder as compensation for taking
the time to find an appropriate home for you. This is a fair request,
as the real estate agent cannot be expected to work for free. So, if the
builder pays the real estate agent a fee for finding you, it is not reasonable
to expect the builder to pay The Alliance as well.

Why do builders participate with the Preferred Home Buyers Alliance?
The short answer is that they participate because we direct informed buyers
to them. The long answer is that The Alliance simplifies the selling process
for builders by, first of all, saving them some up-front marketing costs.
In addition, when The Alliance refers a potential buyer to the builder's
site, we give the builders sales representative enough information about
the prospective buyer's needs that the builders representative can do
research ahead of time in order to make an effective presentation. This
means the home-hunter is more likely to buy. This efficiency and the saved
marketing dollars mean that the builder can justify giving The Alliance an advisory fee.

Is the information that I receive from the Preferred Home Buyers Alliance
100% accurate?
The information you receive from The Alliance is well researched by professionals
active and experienced in the housing industry. We do our best to ensure
this information is 100% accurate. However, this is a fast-paced industry
and changes happen sometimes at breakneck speeds. We advise you to consult
your lawyer before making any legal decisions. In addition, if we refer
you to other web sites for information, we must rely on the efficiency
of these other organizations to provide you with updated and accurate
information about their services.
